Anyone who does yoga regularly knows that no matter how much care you take with your yoga mat, it still needs to be cleaned regularly. Because not only sweat is a great breeding ground for bacteria on the yoga mat: Dirt on hands and feet can also collect on it. And if you use your mat outside, you can't avoid regular cleaning anyway.
Making your own cleaner is super easy and it doesn't take much. Before you use the cleaner, however, you should check with the manufacturer of your yoga mat to see if you can use essential oils on your mat. Because not every material tolerates them.
For the spray you need the following ingredients:
- 60ml Hamamelis Hydrolat (Hamamelis water)
- 120ml water (distilled or boiled and cooled)
- 10 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
- Spray bottle 200ml
Just put the ingredients in a spray bottle , shake well and you're done :)
Application
Spread out your yoga mat on a non-sensitive surface & spray with the cleaner.
Leave on for a few minutes and wipe off with a damp cloth.
happy yoga flow :)
