The time has finally come: the strawberry season has also arrived in Switzerland! Every year I look forward to the season of these sweet, plump berries finally beginning. What I like best is picking and nibbling on these directly from the little plant on a sunny day. Then you can almost taste the cozy warmth. For me, this is the embodiment of summer in a bite.
But since summer is known to be hot, a refreshing drink is essential. That's why the interplay of strawberries and mint is absolutely perfect. I prefer to treat myself to this strawberry milk for a snack, just as a refreshment for in between.
Strawberry milk with mint
Ingredients (makes about 1-2 glasses)
Ingredients
6-8 strawberries (preferably frozen)
1-2 Medjool dates
a handful of peppermint leaves
Plant milk of your choice (I used almond milk, about 2 cups)
a "Gutsch" coconut milk (this makes it creamier)
ice (optional)
preparation
Put the strawberries in the blender and fill up with plant-based milk to almost cover them. Puree the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Cheers!
