The muscatel sage is an impressive medicinal and spice plant with greyish, felty leaves that exude a slightly bitter, grapefruit-like scent. Its purple flowers are also very decorative. In the past, it was often added to wine, hence the name muscatel wine.
Height up to 150 cm.

Sow in June to July in small pots or directly outdoors. Plant in a sunny spot in August. Distance 50x50 cm.
Blooms in the second year.
Harvest the leaves from April to June, harvest the flowers for tea and spice when in full bloom.
