Matabooks

Matabooks is a young company from Germany. They are the first publisher to offer vegan novels and notebooks made from grass paper. They produce their products in a particularly sustainable and fair way.
The books are biodegradable and are largely handmade.

Due to the naturally low lignin content in grass, no chemicals are used in production. The products are also free of animal ingredients, such as bone meal in bookbinding glue or animal dyes in printing ink.

The raw material grass is available in sufficient quantities as a natural product in Germany. This means that transport routes between harvest and paper factory are short - on average only 100 km. This reduces CO2 consumption by up to 75%.
