The tea tree is native to Australia, and the tea tree oil distilled from its leaves has been valued for centuries thanks to its countless benefits. Its properties are so diverse and compelling that it has become the most famous essential oil in the world.
However, tea tree oil has fallen victim to its own success: ecological problems in plantation production and many dubious products on the market are the result. A quality characteristic for good tea tree oil and good skin tolerance is a high content of terpinen-4-ol (over 35%) and a low content of 1,8 cineole (under 5%). Only fresh tea tree oil should be used on the skin (max. 6 months for skin applications)!
Always searching for the best tea tree qualities, Farfalla found them in a special organic project in South Africa. The Grand Cru project aims to break down existing barriers between ethnic groups decades after the end of apartheid, reduce wealth and gender inequality, and promote responsible agricultural practices.
