Story
Assam means something like “unique” in the local language. The leaves of black Assam tea are already impressive on the bush. The tropical climate of Assam allows them to grow taller than their Chinese-origin relatives. Due to its high tannin content, Assam is often used in strong tea blends.

The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were a gift from Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom. Originally prepared just as a drink, chocolate was served as a bitter liquid mixed with spices or corn puree. They were believed to be an aphrodisiac and give strength to the drinker. The first chocolate drink was an integral part of the Aztec culture, from which they got the name xocōlātl.
